Dine 909: New dessert shops open in Rancho Cucamonga, Upland

A new gelato shop has opened at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.

Bacio di Latte opened earlier this month at 7880 Monet Ave., Unit 1070.

In addition to a selection of traditional gelato flavors (and new flavors monthly), the shop also offers vegan sorbets.

It’s the first Inland Empire location for the chain, which also has locations in Los Angeles and Orange counties.

Hours are 11 a.m.-11 p.m. daily.

Now in Upland

Bruster’s Real Ice Cream has opened its second Inland Empire location.

The new shop is at 2440 W. Arrow Route, Suite 5A.

It joins a Rancho Cucamonga location that opened at the end of 2021.

Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.

Thanks to former columnist Diana Sholley for the heads up on the new Bruster’s.

New in San Bernardino

A new Mexican food restaurant has opened in San Bernardino.

Tacos Mi Carreta is at 2150 N. E St., probably best known as the longtime home to Wong’s Kitchen, but was most recently Chubbie’s Chicken & Fish.

The restaurant is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Wine tasting

La Volata Pizzeria in Redlands is hosting a wine tasting from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29.

The event will feature six French wines paired with five courses of French small bites.

Cost is $50, and reservations can be made by visiting www.lavolatapizzeria.com/reservations.

La Volata is at 1453 Ford St., Suite 101.

Rally’s redux

Rally’s price-busting five for $5 deal has already been replaced by another, slightly less deal-worthy offer.

The burger chain’s new T-Pain For Real Meal is still $5, but only includes four items.

The meal includes a small fry, small soft drink, Chicken Bites dusted with barbecue seasoning and either a Rallyburger or a new BBQ Spicy Chicken sandwich, which includes a spicy chicken patty, American cheese, barbecue sauce and pickles on a toasted bun.

Guests can upgrade the combo to a medium ($6) or large ($7) fries and drink.

Rally’s is also offering a T-Pain Cheesy BBQ Bacon Buford, made with two all-beef patties, Swiss cheese, crispy onion tanglers, cheddar cheese, three strips of bacon and barbecue sauce on a toasted bun.

Cost is $5.99 for the burger a la carte or $8.49 for a small combo.

Both are available for a limited time.

Arby’s new deal

Arby’s is hoping that bigger is better when it comes to value meals.

The roast beef chain is offering a Double the Meats Meal for $7.

Taco Tuesday deal

Taco Bell may be the chain leading the charge on Taco Tuesday, but it’s El Pollo Loco that’s got the deal.

The grilled chicken chain just launched a Taco Tuesday offer in its app.

On Tuesdays, guests can order two tacos a la carte for $5 or in a combo with chips and a drink for $7.50.

Taco options include a chicken taco al carbon, chicken avocado taco, shredded chicken crunchy taco or, for a limited time, Baja shrimp taco.

The deal is available at participating locations.

The El Pollo Loco app is available for iOS and Android.

Sorry, we’re closed

Reader Timm reports that Gandolfo’s New York Deli in Rancho Cucamonga has closed.

The longtime sandwich shop was the chain’s sole California location, which has locations in Idaho, Utah, Nebraska and Arkansas.

But not New York.
