No arrests have been made, and the slayings do not appear related, said Capt. Nelson Carrington, a police spokesman.

The first happened around 1:16 a.m. in the 110 block of North G Street. Officers found the victim with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second happened around 6:31 p.m. at Meadowbrook Recreation Park at the corner of East Rialto Avenue and South Allen Street. There was some sort of gathering where the shooting took place, Carrington said. He did not have additional details.
