Three Dog Bakery in Riverside has an unusual way to celebrate National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, July 21. It’s throwing an ice cream social for canines.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., pet parents can come in and build sundaes with Lickety Split ice cream, a nondairy, whey-based product for pooches. The cost is $8.50, and humans will have a choice of flavors and toppings, according to owner Danielle Bolbach. Dogs can enjoy the sundaes on-site, or the desserts will be packaged for humans to take home, she said.
Humans will also get a treat, according to a news release.
The store is at 195 E. Alessandro Blvd., Suite 8F, near McDonald’s in the Mission Grove Shopping Center.
Three Dog Bakery is a chain selling small-batch doggie treats that seem more like baked goods for humans than liver snaps. It was founded in 1989 and has more than 50 retail bakeries nationwide, the news release said. Its headquarters are in Kansas City.
