FULLERTON — A 25-year-old Riverside man pleaded guilty Friday and was immediately sentenced to 18 years and four months in prison for an alcohol- fueled, hit-and-run fatal crash on the Riverside (91) Freeway near Brookhurst Street on the Anaheim-Fullerton border.
Tyler Christian Williams pleaded guilty to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level at .08% or more causing injury, and hit and run with permanent injury, all felonies.
Williams also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of driving on a suspended license and admitted sentencing enhancements for fleeing the scene of a vehicular manslaughter and inflicting great bodily injury on the victim.
Williams killed 59-year-old Maximiliano Fraustovilla of Long Beach in the Jan. 23, 2022, crash. Another victim was also injured.
Williams was driving with a blood-alcohol level of .19, more than twice the legal limit, according to the criminal complaint.
