The Riverside Elks Lodge recently held a Christmas dinner for veterans.
Nearly 50 veterans, including Elks Lodge members and residents of March Veterans Village, attended the Dec. 17 event at the Riverside Elks Lodge, according to a news release.
The evening featured a prime rib dinner and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Santa Claus greeted everyone with a handshake, thanked each veteran for his or her service and gave a bag of goodies to each veteran, while Mrs. Claus passed out candy canes.
The poinsettia centerpieces were raffled off after the dinner, won by 10 veterans at the event.
The veterans’ Christmas dinner was planned by the Riverside Elks Lodge’s veteran services committee and made possible by donations from Elks members, Elks National Foundation grants and bingo charity and lodge charity accounts, according to the news release.
