Inland Empire film, story contest is open to students

Students can again enter their short film, music or written story in the Cinema Culturas Film Festival’s annual contest.

Entries in the fifth International Storytelling, Film and Music competition are due by Sunday, Oct 13.

It is open to elementary, middle, and high school students in the Inland Empire and beyond. It aims to polish students skills in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication, a news release states.

The categories are fiction, non-fiction, science and music. Stories can be written or filmed.

Entries can be submitted under the themes “Year 2050: Your World with Artificial Intelligence.” The contest will accept submissions in English or Spanish. There’s no fee to enter.

The winners’ work will be seen at Cinema Culturas red-carpet reception in early December. Prizes will be awarded.
