First Congregational Church of Riverside invites the community to two Christmas events, a Christmas play and a choral concert.
The church will present “The Christ-mess Story,” a Christmas play by Kate Anger, 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. The play is set in a progressive Southern California church and opens just before the beginning of the church’s annual Nativity play. Chaos ensues with missing actors and props, a theologian “live writing” and a new pastor creating “noise.”
The day after “The Christ-mess Story,” the church choir will present “Christmas Around the World,” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. The concert will explore stories and music from cultures from Latin America to Africa and more, according to a news release.
A tea reception will follow the concert.
Admission to both programs is free.
First Congregational Church of Riverside is at 3504 Mission Inn Ave.
