Dine 909: Taco Tia returns to San Bernardino

Who says you can’t go home again?

Taco Tia has returned to San Bernardino.

The chain, co-founded by Glen Bell prior to his launch of the more well-known Taco Bell, had several locations in San Bernardino and surrounding cities before narrowing down to two longtime locations: San Bernardino and Redlands.

The San Bernardino location at 2535 N. Del Rosa Ave. eventually closed in 2017 and was replaced by Flame Broiler.

Now, Flame Broiler is gone and Taco Tia is back.

Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.

The Redlands location remains at 1004 Orange St.

Open again too

Also returning to San Bernardino is Chicken George Waffle House.

The chicken and waffle restaurant has been closed for months, reportedly due to flooding.

Reopening dates were posted and bypassed several times.

Last week, the restaurant, 604 W. 40th St., finally reopened.

Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.

Grand opening

Rapha Tea will celebrate the grand opening of its Grand Terrace location from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 28 and 29.

The first 100 customers will receive a free drink and everyone else can get a free drink with the purchase of a drink.

Every purchase grants entry into a raffle drawing.

In addition to a variety of tea and coffee drinks — along with other beverages — the shop also offers a handful of finger foods, including fish balls, popcorn chicken, egg rolls and French fries.

Rapha Tea is at 22200 Barton Road, Unit B.

Regular hours appear to be 1-8 p.m. daily.

The new location joins an existing one at 39650 Winchester Road, Suite C, Temecula.

Now in Rialto

Krak Boba continues its expansion across the Inland Empire.

The boba tea chain’s newest location has opened in the Renaissance Marketplace at 1175 W. Renaissance Parkway, Suite 650, Rialto.

Soft-opening specials include $4 fruit teas, milk teas and small coffees and $5 specialty drinks and smoothies.

Hours are noon-8 p.m. daily.

Now open

After a slight delay, Five Guys has opened in Riverside.

The new location is at 3747 Central Ave., Suite 101, formerly Krispy St., which opened in 2021.

Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.

Closing soon

It truly is the end of an era.

Ramona’s Mexican Restaurant, in business in Beaumont since 1972, is closing.

The owners cited rising costs and upgrade demands from the city as reasons for the closure.

The restaurant’s last day of operation will be Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025.

Ramona’s is at 249 W. Sixth St.

Hours are 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday.

Thanks to contributor Greg for emailing us to let us know about Ramona’s.
