Author of book on California School for the Deaf, Riverside, football team to appear

The author of a new book on the California School for the Deaf, Riverside’s championship football team will appear on campus for a question-and-answer session and book signing.

Thomas Fuller, who writes for the New York Times, will be in Riverside for the Thursday, Aug. 22, event. It is set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.. in the Social Hall at the school.

Fuller will meet with members of the community and discuss his book, “The Boys of Riverside: A Deaf Football Team and a Quest for Glory.” Fuller followed the team through its championship-winning 2022 season.

Members of the football team, whose tale Fuller chronicled, also will be present.

The event is a partnership with Riverside’s Cellar Door Books.
