The Rotary Clubs of Murrieta and Old Town Temecula invite nominations of heroes who will be honored during the 2024 Murrieta Field of Honor in November.
This is the 16th year of the Murrieta Field of Honor, presented by the Rotary Club of Murrieta in partnership with the Old Town Temecula Rotary Club and the city of Murrieta. More than 2,000 U.S. flags will fly in Murrieta’s Town Square Park during the Nov. 9-16 event.
For 2024, all heroes nominated must be veterans of the U.S. military and current residents of Riverside County, according to a news release.
In selecting heroes from those nominated by the community, the Rotary clubs are seeking peoplw who in the face of danger or adversity or from a position of weakness display courage or self-sacrifice for the greater good.
To nominate a hero, email a picture of the hero, a short biography and a few sentences on whythe person should be selected, plus contact information (address, email and telephone numbers of the hero and of the nominator) to MurrietaRotary@gmail.com.
A nomination is available at murrietarotaryclub.org/rotary-clubs-seek-hero-nominations-from-community. Nominations close Sept. 1.
The heroes chosen will be honored with a salute during the Field of Honor week, along with being featured in a Field of Honor magazine and in media postings, according to the news release.
A committee of Rotary members will select the heroes, and all nomination information willbecome property of the Rotary Club of Murrieta and may be used in promotion of the Field of Honor.
