A brush fire broke out in Murrieta on Saturday, Aug. 3, prompting temporary evacuations and a partial freeway closure.
The fire was reported along the east side of the 215 Freeway between Los Alamos and Clinton Keith roads, according to the Murrieta Police Department.
Structure fires were reported along Whitewood Road.
An immediate evacuation order was issued for the area east of the 215, west of Ruth Ellen Way and north of Los Alamos Road.
Initially, all northbound lanes of the 215 Freeway between Los Alamos Road and Clinton Keith Road were closed by the fire. Later, one lane was reopened.
The evacuation orders were later canceled.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
The fire comes on the heels of the Alamos fire, which broke out Friday on a hillside near a Murrieta sports park burned 72 acres, forcing evacuations.
