A student a Moreno Valley middle school was taken to a hospital this week after being injured in a fight on campus, authorities said.
Around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, deputies were called to Landmark Middle School after two students got into a physical altercation, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
One student was injured and was taken to a hospital, authorities said. They were later released to their parents.
District officials said in a message to the student body that “American Medical Response was on campus (on Monday).”
“Their presence was in response to a student medical situation,” district officials said. “Please be assured that the situation was handled promptly and safely by our staff and first responders and everyone is safe.”
No arrests were made, authorities said.
In 2019, a 13-year-old boy died days after he was beat by two other students at Landmark Middle School. That attack on Diego Stolz took place on the campus five years ago to the day. The Moreno Valley school district agreed last year to a $27 million settlement of a lawsuit filed by the Stolz family.
