Evacuation warnings were lifted for a brush fire near Corona on Monday, July 22, as containment of the Eagle fire grew to 65%, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said.
The flames had consumed 1,609 acres, Cal Fire said.
The warnings — which means residents need to be prepared to evacuate — were for north of Farley Avenue, south of Cajalco Road, east of Verdino Circle and Cajalco Road and west of Cajalco Road.
As of 11 a.m. on Monday, all evacuation warnings were lifted and Cajalco Road re-opened, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said.
Containment is the percentage of the fire’s border where officials believe the flames will not jump man-made or natural fire breaks.
The fire was reported at 2:02 p.m. Sunday in the area of Eagle Canyon and Cajalco roads, east of Corona, officials said. As of 9:30 p.m. that night, the fire had charred 500 acres and was 25% contained, officials said.
The cause was under investigation.
