Session on veterans resources and benefits is set for Hemet

A session in Hemet next month will offer information on how to improve the lives of veterans.

Veterans University, hosted by the office of Rep. Raul Ruiz, D-Palm Desert, is geared toward veterans, service members, their families and anyone else in the community.

The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Hemet Public Library, 300 E. Latham Ave. It will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Topics will include health care and disability benefits, exposure to burn pits, mental health, female veterans, home ownership, older residents and employment resources for veterans, a news release states.
