Oldlympics return to San Jacinto Valley for 39th installment

The San Jacinto Valley’s games are again underway.

The 39th annual Oldlympics began Friday, Sept. 20.

Organized by the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District, these games are a series of competitions for those age 50 and older.

Contestants battle it out for awards in 20 events — from pinochle to pickleball and from swimming to track and field.

San Jacinto Valley’s Oldlympics competitions run Sept. 20-Oct. 8

On Monday morning, Sept. 23, contestants began the four-day shuffleboard competition at the Hemet Municipal Courts in Weston Park.

The Oldlympics run through Tuesday, Oct. 8, the day of an awards banquet in the Michael Paul Gymnasium at Regional Park in San Jacinto.
