It’s not as well known as Comic-Con, but scientists hosted their own convention Saturday, Aug. 24, at Hemet’s natural history museum.
The Western Science Center’s second annual PaleoCon aimed to spread knowledge — and fun — in a one-day science event.
Scientists chose fossils from the museum’s collections and discussed them with guests. Visitors watched scientific research.
“Most people don’t get to see the scientific process, so we want scientists to show off that process right on the exhibit floor,” Executive Director Alton Dooley said in a statement before the conference.
On the lighter side, the event included an interactive art demonstration, a science-inspired poetry reading and a scavenger hunt for kids.
