Off-Broadway Corona Theater will present the musical comedy “Something Rotten!” Sept. 6-15 at the Historic Civic Center Theater, 815 W. Sixth St., Corona.
The musical, with book by Karey Kirkpatrick and John O’Farrell and music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Karey Kirkpatrick, follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, Renaissance playwrights stuck in the shadow of William Shakespeare, on their creative journey.
“ ‘Something Rotten!’ is a hilarious comedy, with a great book, amazingly fun songs and huge dance numbers,” Amanda Kalkanis, Off-Broadway Corona Theater’s director, said in a news release. “Our artistic team has been dreaming of doing this show since we first saw it tour and waited until we felt we could do it justice with the perfect cast and creative team.”
The OBCT cast features Adam Granados as Shakespeare, Wyatt Buckle as Nick Bottom, Camryn Hamm as Portia, Marcel Almirantearena as Nigel, Amanda Kalkanis as Bea, Robert Hoyt as Brother Jeremiah and Zachary Smart as Nostradamus.
Others in the cast are Katie Archbold Andrs, Nate Beals, Lorenzo Flores, Kellen Ford, Audrey Gall, Shawn Hart, Tylor Jenkins, Kyle Robert Kopp, Krista McClean, Radames Montes, Ali Naim, Tania Nelson, Alycia Thomas, Mary Thomas, Nathanial Vogel, Jacob Webb and Alex Wersen.
Performances are 7 p.m. Fridays, 1 and 7 p.m. Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $30-$50, available at obctheater.com or by calling 951-264-5794.
