A new scoop shop in Corona has ways to help people get through the heat of August.
Baskin-Robbins is opening Saturday, Aug. 3, at 341 S. Lincoln. Ave., Unit H. The shopping center is anchored by Cardenas Markets.
The first 31 customers will be treated to free ice cream for a year, according to a news release. And throughout the day, customers can get ice cream scoops for $1.31, the release said.
Opening festivities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon, a prize wheel, music, balloon art and a visit by the Baskin-Robbins mascot, Coney.
Other deals will include buy-one-get-one scoops Aug. 5-11; buy-one-get-one two-scoop sundaes, Aug. 12-18; and more buy-one-get-one scoops, Aug. 19-25, the news release said.
Offers are only valid at the new Corona location.
Baskin-Robbins, founded in Glendale in 1945, was originally known for its 31 flavors a month.
This month’s featured flavor is Beach Day, soothing blue salted vanilla with caramel-filled sea turtles, flecks of frosting and streaks of graham cracker representing sand.
Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily.
