The Shops at Dos Lagos is wrapping up a busy year with holiday cheer, including a train ride to the North Pole.
The 47-acre outdoor shopping center in Corona will hold its tree lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 and begin train rides to the North Polo.
DL Polar Express Train carries passengers to Santa’s “hidden village” on the property, where they can buy Santa photo packages. The attraction runs through Dec. 24. Information is at dlpolarexpress.com.
Other festivities include a snow day with 50 tons of fresh snow 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Dec. 7 and holiday movies at Dos Lagos Luxury Theaters.
Dos Lagos is in the midst of an $88 million expansion that includes new entertainment and dining options. 810 Billiards & Bowling is coming in 2025, according to Barret Woods, owner of the shopping center, and there will be more live entertainment in its amphitheater. Recent headliners included Billy Bob Thornton, currently starring in “Landman,” a new series by “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan.
Restaurants that opened this year include Dada Sushi, which holds occasional carving parties with giant bluefin; Karl Strauss Brewing Company, which moved into space formerly occupied by Taps Fish House; and Crab n Spice, which serves seafood boil, currently all you can eat Monday through Thursday.
Restaurants Woods expects to open early in 2025 include Claro’s Italian Market, a specialty grocery store and deli, and Mr. Tempo, a sports bar and nightclub.
