Raincross Master Chorale will perform Morten Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna” with orchestra in its “Songs of Light” concert 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Riverside.
The concert of music exploring light and illumination from a variety of perspectives also includes “O nata lux de lumine” by Thomas Tallis, “Lux Aurumque” by Eric Whitacre and the five-movement “Illuminare” by Elaine Hagenberg, according to a news release. “Illuminare” will be performed with orchestra.
Membership in Raincross Master Chorale, a 45-voice choir, is open by audition. Jonathan Osbrink directs the chorale, and Abe Fabella is the accompanist. Proceeds from concerts allow the group to give scholarships to young music students.
“Come out and get inspired by these masterful choral settings,” Osbrink said in the news release. “Live music has always been able to lift the human spirit and the sound will be amazing inside the sanctuary.”
Tickets are $20 for general admission and $15 for seniors and military. Tickets are available at the door, from any chorale member and at raincrossmasterchorale.org.
Calvary Presbyterian Church is at 4495 Magnolia Ave.
