Mayhem Festival announces set times for the one-day metal event

Get ready to bang your head and fly your devil horns high. The set times are out for the Mayhem Festival happening on Saturday, October 12, at Glen Helen Amphitheater in Devore.

The event returns to the grounds that first inaugurated the festival 16 years ago where Slipknot and Disturbed headlined the tour. Over its eight-year course, the bills have included prominent metal bands such as Slayer, Korn and Dethklok as headliners but the festival has not been active since 2015.

The one-day metal festival will celebrate its return with performances featuring Bad Omens, Parkway Drive, and Architects on the bill and up-and-coming acts such as Escuela Grind and Holy Wars will kick off the festival.

This year’s highlights include the first-ever performance of System of Down bassist Shavo Odadjian’s new band, Seven Hours After Violet; August Burns Red performing their 2009 hit album, “Constellations,” in its entirety; the first West Coast appearance by Peyton Parrish; Throwdown’s first California show in 13 years; and It Dies Today’s first West Coast show in over a decade.

Tickets for the event kicking off at 1 pm are $41.30-$122 at Livenation.com.
