A woman and her 7-year-old son were struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in a neighborhood in east Hemet on Thursday, Sept. 26, authorities said.
Around 7:45 a.m., the woman was pushing her child in a stroller in the area near Yale Street and Salts Circle when the pair were struck by a pickup truck, said California Highway Patrol Officer Jonathan Torres. The driver did not stop to check on the two victims and continued driving.
The mother and her son were taken to a hospital for minor injuries, Torres said.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as a light-colored pickup truck.
No arrests had been announced Thursday afternoon.
