Riverside’s Deafestival is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
The event is set for Saturday, Sept. 14, at Riverside City Hall. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It will feature American Sign Language poetry, performances, vendors, booths staffed by community organizations, food and a kids’ activity zone.
The festival is one of several events planned in September to promote awareness of the deaf community.
Riverside’s Commission of the Deaf will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at city hall.
An exhibit from deaf artists can be viewed Tuesday, Sept. 17, at The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture of The Riverside Art Museum.
A deaf community softball game with Riverside police is set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Hunter Hobby Park in Riverside.
