Bulls weighing between 1,200 and 2,000 pounds vs. a bull rider who weighs around 150 pounds, barrel racing horses accelerating to 30 mph in just two strides while riders command them for the 15 to 30 seconds, and team roping, requiring close cooperation between two ropers and their horses.
The 38th annual Norco Mounted Posse Rodeo brought a weekend of action to the George Ingalls Equestrian Event Center in Norco.
The rodeo showcases competition sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.
The spirit of the Old West is celebrated at the event, which also honors Norco’s equestrian heritage, according to the Riverside visitor’s bureau website.
