A woman was stabbed to death at the Walmart in Lake Elsinore and the suspected attacker was arrested on Monday morning, Aug. 5, authorities said.
The report came into authorities at about 7 a.m., an hour after the store was scheduled to open. It was unclear if the stabbing was inside Walmart.
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a woman being stabbed by a man in the 29000 block of Central Avenue, said Sgt. Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez, a sheriff’s spokeswoman.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department paramedics were sent to the Walmart, said department spokeswoman Tawny Castro, with the victim pronounced dead at the scene.
No other details, including the name of the suspect, any relationship with the victim and any motive for the attack, were immediately available, Brito-Gonzalez said.
No one answered the phone at the Walmart on Monday morning.
